Senior Product Manager
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager who is responsible for managing all customer-related aspects of several live games. This person will need a strong understanding of the social games category in order to develop and execute on retention, engagement, anti-churn, and monetization strategies. While funded by News Corp, Making Fun is a start-up and the role requires rolling up your sleeves to get things done and a proactive, self-starter work personality. We’re looking for someone to grow with us in order to take on greater responsibilities in the future.
Responsibilities:
- Develop CRM and product strategies to improve live games.
- Develop game-specific CRM and product strategies to effectively increase retention, virality, and monetization of customers.
- Develop test-and-learn tactics, identify areas for improvement of customer experience, and develop innovate solutions to resolve any known problems.
- Work with game producers, game developers, and engineers to efficiently execute on tactics.
- Co-develop (with Marketing team) game-specific, targeted marketing strategies that are focused on customer retention, virality, and monetization.
- Work with game producers, game developers, engineers, and creative services on the execution of marketing tactics.
- Work with internal data analyst to capture and analyze metrics, and leverage data in the development of all recommendations.
- Engage with game producers to incorporate test structures in various phases of game play.
- Analyze metrics for marketing programs, new game features that are rolled out, and effects of other changes that are made to games.
- Leverage data and learnings to develop actionable tests, campaigns and feature evolution recommendations that can realistically be implemented and measured for effectiveness.
- Be the voice of Making Fun when communicating to users
- Manage Making Fun’s community forums and blogs specific to live games.
- Appropriately delegate technical and customer service inquiries to engineers and producers to have issues promptly handled.
- Reinforce a company culture that respects and shows appreciation for our customers (game players)
- Be an advocate for anything and everything that will benefit the user experience.
- Create and deliver recommendations, case studies, and presentations to the entire Making Fun organization and game-specific teams to help improve customer retention and the Making Fun business.
Skills and Experience Required:
- 2+ years specifically as a product manager of live games, and a total 5-10 years as (Sr.) Product Manager and/or (Sr.) Product Marketing Manager in other consumer product/service categories.
- Strong understanding of social game category, with prior category experience required.
- Strategic thought leadership to proactively identify product needs, opportunities, and solutions.
- Smart thinker with strong problem solving skills.
- Attention to details and a commitment to producing quality work.
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal — strong enough to develop persuasive Powerpoint presentations developing convincing arguments.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
- Knows how to play well in the sandbox with others — collaboration with producers, game developers, business partners, and the Making Fun executive team is critical.
- Strong project management skill set.
- Good time management skills and understand importance of meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
